youth & high school soccer league notes
Welcome - Thank you for registering (or considering registering) your youth or high school team to play Indoor Soccer at Charlotte Sports Center. There will be a Coaches meeting on Monday, October 27, 2008 from 7-8 PM for youth teams. High school teams need not attend, but can if they wish. During this meeting we will discuss league rules, answer questions and process all Team Balances. Attendance is highly recommended as this meeting will efficiently address all league questions, rules and procedures.
Game Days – Youth games are played on Friday and Saturday nights . There will be some Youth games during the Christmas break during the weekdays while kids are out of school. No games will be played on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Years Eve. High School games will be played Monday thru Friday afternoons. There will be no High School games while schools are on Winter Break.
Game Times – Game times will vary to be fair to all Youth teams. High School Girls games will be played on weekday afternoons and High School Boys will play on Friday or Saturday evenings.
Bye Requests – We will try and honor each team’s requests for byes, provided they are listed on the original registration form. Because of the number of teams playing during the winter season, it is very difficult to change any schedules after they are posted. If you are going to have to forfeit a game, please call us so we can try and get a replacement team for your opponent to play for that particular game.
Schedules - Schedules will be completed at least 1 week before your first game and posted on our online League Management Program called
. All players will need to have a current waiver on file and be assigned to your Team Roster to be able to access their team schedule and standings. Waivers/Rosters can be submitted online by Clicking Here.
Team Fee / Deposit – A $200 deposit is due with your registration form and the Team’s Balance is due on or before the Captain's Meeting on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 7-8 PM.
Payment Information – A minimum $200 deposit is required before your TEAM will be added to the league. Once your Registration Form has been received and processed (within 24-48 hours), you will receive an email with instructions to log into our secure and encrypted online
system to process your Team Deposit and/or Team Payment. Team deposits must be paid within 24 hours of receiving your registration confirmation. Team Balances are due on or before the Captain's Meeting on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 7-8 PM and can also be paid online at
. Click Here to Register Now.
Age Groups – The age groups are U12 - U-15 for Boys, and U-12 - High School for both Boys and Girls. The age group you played in the fall is the same age group you will play during the winter. For instance, if before August 1st you were 12 years old and you played U-13 this will be the same for indoor.
Team Rosters/Waivers - All Players will have to fill out waivers for the upcoming season. Your Team’s Roster is due at the end of your first game or before. Players can be added to your rosters up until your fifth game of the season. After the fifth game, the rosters are frozen for the playoffs. You can add players after the fifth week, but they are not eligible to play in the playoffs. The easiest way for your Players to be added to your roster is to have their parent or guardian click here to complete an Online Waiver or they can download a hard copy of the Waiver and complete and bring with them to the first game.

WHAT IS FUTSAL?
Futsal is a form of Soccer that is played 5 v 5 on a hardwood or rubber surface. Each team plays with 5 players on the surface at a time (4 field players + 1 goalie) and the rules of the game are very similar to soccer. The main differences between Futsal and Soccer are:
Surface: Futsal is played on a Hardwood or Rubber playing surface
Ball: Smaller, slightly weighted ball similar in size to a Size 3 soccer ball
Goals: Smaller goals that are approximately 10 feet wide by 6 tall
Rules: Similar to soccer except no contact allowed, no slide tackling and no shoulder tackling allowed
A regulation size Futsal court is approximately the same size as a basketball court. All Futsal games at Charlotte Sports Center are played on our hardwood basketball surface. Futsal players play in their flats or tennis shoes and the game is extremely fast-paced because of the smaller surface. The game of Futsal forces all players to work hard on foot skills, passing and shooting. All players spend significant time on the ball and substitutions are very frequent because of the fast-paced nature of the game.
